Sustainability Ambitions

As an organisation, it is important that we continue to adapt our practices to ensure we can thrive in a low-carbon and climate-resilient future.

To deliver on that ambition, we recognise the need for everyone to contribute, which is why we’ll be working closely with partners to help reduce the carbon footprint of the breeding programme. Work is underway to remove plastic from our on-orchard activity, including the use of recyclable pots for our seedling programme, which could result in 100,000 fewer plastic items used per annum.

We recognise that individually KBC may only make small contributions, what we learn from these trials could also help the industry towards achieving its own ambitious climate goals.
