Nick Hammond - Director

Nick Hammond is the Chief Strategy Officer at Zespri, bringing extensive experience in strategy, innovation, and building premium New Zealand food businesses for global markets. He joined Zespri in February 2026 after serving as Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Spring Sheep Milk Co., where he played a leading role in establishing New Zealand's modern sheep-milking industry and growing an award-winning nutrition business with an international presence.

Prior to Zespri, Nick spent nearly a decade helping build Spring Sheep through strategic partnerships, market development, product innovation, and a strong focus on sustainability and value creation for farmers. His career has also included roles in agribusiness investment, strategic projects, accounting, and consulting. He is both a Chartered Accountant and a qualified lawyer, with degrees in law, finance, and accounting.

Passionate about New Zealand's food and primary sectors, Nick is driven by creating high-value systems that connect growers with consumers around the world. At Zespri, he leads the company's strategic direction, helping position the organisation for long-term growth, innovation, and continued delivery of value to kiwifruit growers and the wider industry
